About Michelle

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Professional Life Coach, I consider it an honor to have been a part of the healing and change process for many women and adolescent girls over the past 15 years.

relaxation techniquesMy Personal Story:

Like many preteen and adolescent girls, I lost my “voice”: my sense of identity and confidence, which led to attempts to cope in unhealthy ways. As I struggled to find my “self” again, and let go of the inner critic, I found help from a caring therapist who moved me toward recovery from an eating disorder. While challenging myself to grow, change, and let go of distorted beliefs, I realized as a high school student that I wanted to help other girls and women by pursuing counseling psychology.

Later, when I had my two children, I found that motherhood is my greatest joy, but can also be my greatest challenge! After many years of recovery and living well, I thought I had it pretty together. However, parenting brought new surprises, and I find my sense of balance and calm is often thrown out the window! As I struggled to regain my footing, it was helpful to use many of the techniques that I’ve taught to therapy clients for years.

We all have stressors in our lives, and most of us have gone through challenges or losses. Sometimes we lose sight of our strengths, skills, supports, and blessings. If you’re like me, you may have to let go of perfectionism or become more aware of the inner critic that holds you back. It is possible to begin shifting our perspectives and become more successful. My clients and I work together to clarify goals, rediscover personal strengths, and implement a plan for positive change.

life counselingOver the years I’ve been fascinated by research into holistic wellness in mind, body, and spirit. I’ve benefited from my experiences as an athlete and then a certified fitness instructor for 15 years. As I continue to grow, adapt, and learn how to find more peace, strength, and joy in my own life, I keep studying what works best to help clients make lasting changes.

I enjoy helping others recognize their life stories, and then discover how to create the life story they want for their future. My mission is to offer encouragement to others so they will have more peace and joy in their lives. This includes not only my clients, but my family, friends, and those in need around the word.
